Bearings

Soooo, for problem number 3 in the last month, today i went in for a oil change, i got a certificate for a free one or else id just do it myself and than i asked them to check my brakes, than they called me into the shop and asked me if id been hearing a clunkin noise?? i was like no everything seems fine, and they showed me my bearings are bad! my tire and everything rattle all over the place. i have not a clue about how to fix them myself, so i got a quote and it will cost a grand.... -_-

so are u talking about the front bearing or rear? im guessing fronts but if everything up there is rattling all over i would think more of a ball joint then bearings, if the bearings are bad u will get some moving from tire, and rotor and u would feel it in the steering wheel, the caliper is attached to the control arm and shouldnt be moving all over. if u can take a pic of what is moving then we can help more. might need to pull the hub set up and have it pressed in, but u can get the bearings at a local auto parts and go to napa and have them press out the old and press in the new.

those are press in style, i would check out the fsm and see if its something u feel like u can do and pull the front arm and take it into napa or another shop that will press in the new bearing... here is a link to removing the hub assy,
