Before you go pulling the transmission, are you certain it's not the valve covers leaking?

I checked the valve cover gaskets and they are not leaking. I just got done with replaceing the oil cooler o rings that where leaking. I was hopeing it was residual oil from that but it isnt. Thank you

Excellent advice.

Gravity is not your friend; EVERY oil leak will look like a main seal within a few seconds. I assume the OP cleaned his rig very carefully, and then looked for the leak.

I'd get an in person 2nd opinion from an independent unbiased mechanic before I tore it all apart. I wouldn't mention your suspicions, don't influence him.

couldn't find the thread I was posting in.

So I "redid" the rear main and I've had oil setting in there for a while...I didn't do it completely right apparently because well I'm still leaking some oil but now my truck is making a squeaking noise when it runs. It has oil in it but it's running really hot.
