Way of MAKING the check engine light come on? Need to test it

Way of MAKING the check engine light come on? Need to test it
With the problems I've been having lately I should have seen the check engine light but never did. Anyway of testing it to make sure that it will come on when it needs to?

Go into USER CP and add your rigs specs to your signature line. It will help for answering questions.
Plug a code reader in....you may have a stored code.
Your fuse or bulb on the dash may be burned out if you don't see it come on for a second or two when you turn the key to start.

No code reader needed. Each and every vehicle's CEL will come on with the turn of the key and engine not running.
