FIberglass Tailgate Photo

Unbelievable! This tailgate has perfect fitment! If I didnt tell you... you'd never know it was fiberglass.

If anyone needs a toyota body part - Bed or tailgate... call CJ @ www.toyotafiberglass.com!

Thanks Corey!

Rear Side View

I should have her finished up with the new wheels and tires.... detailed and ready for the road next week!

Whata truck! I'll bet it will creat some inquiries at the gas pump!

It was so much work... I need to get special insurance... parts are scarce on these things!

Just Saying!

Emblem

Dang Corey... that Emblem looks awesome... how did you do that man? I would consider sending this to someone and paying them to make it look like that!

Im running a 4" SkyJacker Suspension Lift with 33" x 12.50 x 15s.

Anyway... I will post some more pics next week after I get the bed liner in and the wheels & tires on her! Still got to do some more work on the bed to prep it for the liner... Will detail her and then...

On the road she goes!

Blake

thanks .. so can I use/have a pic ?

doing the emblem is super easy, just takes a little time .. just tape off the chrome (painters tape works best) cut the edges of the tape with a sharp razor blade/knife . scuff up the rest with a scotch brite pad , and paint black . Then remove the tape , and with a very fine brush , hand paint the red

no problem

Sure.... go right ahead... a photo of the gate for your website.... a photo doesn't do it justice though! The thing is flawless!

My gate has some play in it when its latched... I gotta adjust something... I will get her figured out! Its a hardware issue... not the gate itself! (I supplied the hardware!)

As for buying a fiberglass bed.... $2500 is nothing for a truck like this if you needed one! The #1 problem with these 1st gen trucks are rusty beds and tailgates... nobody has replacements other than Corey at www.toyotafiberglass.com. Without a bed... you have a crawler in the making! If you want to own a true classic truck... that will be worth something later... a bed is an investment in "what you have" not "what you can sell it for!"

I haven't had the truck out in the road yet... Im sure it wont garner the kind of attention my 911 super wide body gets ... but I am sure one or two people will make me an instant offer!

but... I'll bet it will gather some attention!

the majority of the emblem looks good but maybe it is just the lighting, but the chrome portion still looks pitted

yes it is .. I didnt have it rechromed .. just painted it (as mention above, taped off) .. chrome still has rock pits from 30 years of service , I tried some autosol , and other polishes , and got it the best I could . I would have no idea how to "buff" this out with out ruening the emblem .. you ?

I took my factory emblem and wiped it down with acetone and made it all chrome... I always have done this to any thing that is plastic with painted over chrome...I took my F150 grill and wiped off all the black paint and it was amazing the coments I got ( wow the new grill is awsome, hey when did you get the new grill, ect.) I never told them any diferent....just my $0.02
