Pondboys 1994 Pickup Build-Up Thread

I am on the way to pick up my (other) baby! After an engine swap that took nearly two years b/c of electrical gremlins and MONEY I am once again wheelin' my YOTA. I will start posting pics of my build today. I think I will start with the crunched rear bumper from the idiot tow truck driver. What is in the works....rear BUMPER, paint, fender flares, wheels, tint, bedliner replacement, Kayak rack, etc....... Stay Tuned!

Sounds cool. Waiting on pics!

Is the towing company going to pay for the bumper?

No, they won't pay for the bumper. It had some cancer on the bottom as it was the original factory part. I will put up some pics in a few minutes!

Cool

Here are some new pics. I can't find the ones of when I first got it. The first image is of the bumper, you can see the angle of the bumper . The second is of my completed engine install, you can still see the tape where I marked things.

Question: Are the mounts for a bumper/hitch the same on the 94 p/u and 4runner? There are two bumpers our there I like. The top one is from 4x Innovations and the bottom is from WabFab. I like the supports along the side of the WabFab bumper but I like the overall look of the receiver integration from 4xInnovations. There is a big price difference but...

I need some advice on my paint and rims. I am going to the shop today to get an estimate on paint & body. I am gonna have to stay blue as my interior is stock Japanese blue but I wanted to know what you all thought about the trim. I am blacking out the truck. My chrome on the grill is starting to peel and the door handles are bubbling up. I was going to make them the same color as the body (some shade of dark blue). I am going to have black rims, and bumpers. What do you think?

grill

Back to the Grill. I found a new one on Ebay but the posting seems, well...stupid. Read through it, why would the grill be different it it is a 4x4 vs. 2x4?

It is black and that would solve my vacuum deposition aluminum problem. But do you agree with me that the drivetrain has nothing to do withe the grill and bumper?

Well, Paint is delayed due to weather.....but my parts are here! Rims arrived today in a big brown truck! My decals came last week, new NON CHROME grill arrived last week as did my interior stuff (Radio, shift knob, etc.) I picked up my bedliner kit three weeks ago. Now all I need is the truck, LOL.

Anyone got a pick of a stock 94 with wab fab's 2" lifto on it? I am hesitant about lifting and wanted to see one.

Booooooo they totally didn't paint it the right color...at all! I can't fuss because I went through a friend and if it was his truck and got HIS price. I am trying to get used to it being blue. I will up some pics in a little bit.
