90 22RE will fire over then cut right out...stumped

So I got a 90 22re extra cab

Truck has sat since august...started fine the other day but now wont stay running. Itll turn right over and start up but cut out after 3 seconds, after that it wont fire again until you wait 5- 10 minutes but yet again it will only stay running for maybe 3 seconds.

Anyone know what the problem could be...I appreciate any help

Have you checked your AFM? There is a link in my signature for the factory service manual that will help out when testing.

Check fuel pressure. Check for plugged fuel filter. Check AFM as stated above. Not necessarily in any order but do all three.

but how do I check for fuel pressure?...pretty sure I can locate and replace a fuel filter and that AFM link will help too.

Gonna try these tomorrow thanks for the help!

Crack open the bolt on the cold start injector. You'll know if you got pressure.

Before you start wrenching, jump FP to B+ on the diagnostic connector. If the truck starts AND RUNS with the jumper, then you have a problem in the VAFM, COR circuit. (And not in the fuel pump or fuel filter).
