4l60e transmission, transfer case options

I bought a 95 blazer to do the 4.3 swap. It has a 4l60e transmission with driver side drop t case. What transfer case will work with this transmission & give me passenger side drop?

AA adapter to toyota gear-driven tcase. That's what I'm using. Pull off the clutch fan, and put the tcase in the stock location, and it all fits perfect. Done

Hate to sound ignorant but I guess I am, what clutch fan are you to talking about? The blazer is a 4x4 with driver side drop. Do I just need to remove the t case & bolt up the adapter ? Is the gear drive transfer case pretty stout?

I found a 700r4 with a dana 300 transfer case for $500.00 would this be a good set up behind the 4.3 ? I talked to AA & the adapter I need for my trans is nearly $500.00

I can't speak on the Dana 300, other than I've seen it in a few Toyota's w/ GM trannies. I personally am building a 350/4L60E w/ AA adapter and Toyota gear driven transfer case. I've got everything bolted up, I had to shorten the driveshaft by about 3", and I was forced to run a rear radiator due to space constraints. I got lucky and found a member on Craigslist selling a swap kit for a decent price.

IIRC if the Dana 300 is coming attached to the 700R4, it probably already has an adapter to match the two together, Novak lists the adapter for like $600. You should be just fine with that setup, although you might spend a bit more time trying to get everything to fit, but Dana is never a bad choice.

That's a good transfer but make sure the 700 is in good shape. What year is it? Early or late? The Toyota transfer is plenty strong so don't throw that option out if it's a good 4l60. Do you have any way of knowing what engine the 700 was behind?

Yup, and if you end up running the stock 700R4, it will need a few upgrades before long.
