The low down on NW Offroad suspension kits
#1
I recently called Northwest Offroad to inquire about their 2" softride suspension kit for 79-85 toys. I was shocked that they are selling them for almost $800. Do any of you run this kit? And if so, please give me an honest oppinion. Sure I can get a lift for $300, but in my experience you usually get what you pay for when it comes to suspension systems. And yes, I am somewhat concerned with the ride quality on this truck.
Thanks y'all

personally i am not aware of anyone running these springs...NWOR springs have a reputation of riding rough.
I had a set that never even made it on my truck. My brother in law ran them for two weeks before he went back to stock..I used them for trading stock..

I looked at their shackles and what have ya, but thought I would ask for a second oppinion before even contemplating 800 bones on some springs.
Is there any company that has a decent lift for the $? I have one from rough country, wasn't too pleased with it. Had to grind rear springs to get ubolts to fit on...and this was a bolt on kit.

Call John in TECH at LC Engineering. I believe LCE purchased some of Downy's product lines. If not, he can steer you in the right direction. I have had Downy 3" lift springs on my truck for 25+ years and no sag or other problems.

OLD MAN EMU's are AWESOME. i got the HD fronts and didnt realize that you DONT want the HD's unless you have a big v6 or v8 in there. for a stock motor(or any 22r family of motor) you want the NON HD kit. these trucks will run rough anyway but it makes it much better. get some rancho 9000 gas shocks too if you can afford them. thats my next upgrade.
