I had one. $75 is a good price if its clean. As far as strength, the tubes are thinwall and I wouldn't pull or push anything with it. There is a reason they don't have a winch plate. Look way better than stock IMO, but I considered mine as cosmetic only.

If you think that look is worth $75, go for it.

But it has no functional value. In fact, the upper bar makes it kind of a PITA to open the hood. My truck came with one....I'd really rather have a stock one!

I have a smutty built in the rear, and so far it has helped out in at least three occasions, and it's held up. The rear seems decent, but the front not so much. If I could, I would build a custom one with a winch plate.

Interesting I have a older Smitty Built front bumper that has a winch plate I guess it is like all else different kinds for different $$$

It still sits here never installed because the winch was stolen so why bother.

I picked up a smitty built front and rear for my rig shortly after I bought it for $150 or $200, back in 2007.

First time out I railed a good sized stump and broke both the welds mounting bracket. It was hanging at about a 45 deg angle. (...and i thought i was going to show that sapling who was boss, treading heavy bit me where the sun doesn't shine) Alas, the bumper served it's purpose.

I would make sure that it mounts to the front of the frame itself. The one I had mounted to the front body mounts, an idea I was never fond of...

I may be wrong here but that bumper in the pic is bent to hell. Not worth scrap if you ask me...maybe if they were filled with concrete lol.

Great observation, captain obvious.
He asked if they were strong so I showed him pictures of how strong they aren't.
Pay attention next time.

and with a stock bumper, that wreck would have been considerably worse.
