87 4runner complete rebuild running rich.

I have done a complete rebuild on my 22re. All new low end and brand new head, stock cam... I'm trying to break the motor in and its running a little rich... My plugs were new and now they're black... I got this truck and it was screwed up bad so I've been overhauling it... All vsv have been bypassed as none came with the truck. Could that be my problem? No vsv and check valve for the fuel pressure regulator? Vacuum for fpr goes strait into intake.

O2 sensor. Ecu is playing it safe and pouring on the gas. Also could be a weak coil, not putting out enough spark.

I just fired it up and unplugged the 02. Nothing changed... That's a problem yes? I'm sure it is but for my sanity after everything I've been threw with this thing, I could use some reassurance.

Well thats "open loop" and its default condition is Rich since running lean is real bad, melts stuff.

So I had a buddy with the same runner as mine cone by and I tried unplugging his o2 and nothing changed on his truck, kept running fine. I tried outing his o2 in mine nothing changed on mine. I also tried his ecu and his afm. Still no difference. Any suggestions. I'm about to open the harness and trace every wire. Search for a short or bad connection or something.
