It runs and now need advice on tranny wires!!!!!!

So I was able to fire up the motor up over the weekend and it started after the 4th or 5th attempt. I let it run for about 10 mins and everything seems to function properly right now and I had no issues with my adapter harness I made. I still need to hook up the muffler and do a few minor things like put the inside dash back together, make a battery tray, and put the hood on but they're no biggie. The hard part is done IMHO. I do have one question? How are you guys running the wires for the tranny and transfer case? They seem a bit close to the exhaust crossover and down pipe if I run them currently down the driver side. I'm trying to decide if I should just add header wrap around the wire loom for protection or try and run the wire over to the passenger side to get them away from the exhaust. So I kinda just wanted to know how other may have done things. I see I will have to extend a few of the wires so that they can reach their destination.

Hope to take this beast for a spin by the end of next week. I can already tell it's much stronger than the ol' slow I took out.

Wish I could tell you man, but I just finished my crossover and dropped the motor in, now to wire. How long did it take you from the beginning until now?

No problem on not being able to help on my question.

As for my swap, I started back at the end of February but I haven't work on it consistently like I wanted to until about 2 weeks ago, just had to much other stuff going on. I would normally put in an hour here and a couple hours there. I bought a complete taco and stripped it down, then started pulling things apart on the Runner. I did the wiring first then move on to the more labor intensive stuff of pulling the motor and tearing things apart.

It's taken me some time but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Good luck to you on your swap and the folks on this site are great. Tons of knowledge and people willing to provide some guidance here.

Run wires away from heat if at all possible. Effort now will be half of redoing it later.
Jon wired the last one up in about 6-8 hours. That is using OEM harnesses and pulling pins so when it's done it looks OEM and easier to troubleshoot than hacking a harness or making your own.

So are you saying use the Original 3.0 harness and just re-pin or maybe I just didn't fully understand your response.

bump...

Any suggestions??? I plan on running wire harness down the driver side and just install heat resistance wire loom on harness where it get close to the exhaust for protection.
