1st front axle rebuild, need advice on damaged knuckle!!
my first time servicing a straight front axle....
the passenger side knuckle started to leak gear oil, thats why i decided to rebuild it, then i notice a massive amount of play in the knuckle when i put the truck up. looks like my bottom bearing got completely shredded and even damaged my knuckle & housing too.
can anyone tell me if the damage is really bad or is it ok to put new races/bearings? and continue the rebuild...
pics below--- thanks for looking!!

dirty 30 or the 'better than stock' 27 spline?
just a theory so don't have proof to back this up..but since the birf doesn't carry the load it seems like you could try cleaning it up and pack that sucker with grease in the knuckle ball and be good to go...again, not saying it will cure it but I would try it..

they're dirty 30s. so you're saying just clean it up with a file or something and throw it back in there? should be good since they're not disfigured.
i probably will try that because im trying to save $$$$ on this project.
thanks!

done with the rebuild-pictures>>>>>
with many thanks to yotatech community, i have completed my first solid axle rebuild successfully!!
i got the kit from trail-gear, and the inner seals from marlin.
everything went smoothly. just took some time to clean the knuckle housing/steering knuckles and paint everything.
all around pretty easy job if you take the time to study a bit, find the info and specs and your good to go!
to do the job with ease i found these thing to be helpfull:
-gloves(lots of them)
-rags-(lots of them too!)
-54mm socket
-torque wrench
-brass drift(thick) to pound races in
-small flat bar(pry-bar) to pop the seals
-other than that, a bucket of wheel bearing grease, paint, solvents.
again, much thanks to the yotatech family for making the information available!! was a fun ride!
