Rollz79 79 long box build

Well its time to start my build thread. I have been looking around here and I like what i see. So here it my 79 long box.

When i first got her she had a flat bad on it.

I'm not a huge fan of flat bed so i got myself a normal bed for it.

So like any old toyota my stock carb took a poopy on me. I bought a weber 32/36 best 245 bux ever spent.
After installing the weber ran like a dream.

always nice to have another local, PNW 1st gen truck owner. Welcome to YT
what wheels are you running? I kind of like the narrow approach.

They are just some wagon style steels wheels. There a 15x7 and tires are 33/12/15.

Haven't been doing much lately. I did happen to score a set of hella E-code headlights for FREE.

Never Buy cheap Ebay "projector" headlights. They are a joke. you can tell from the pic they only allow about 3/4 of the light.

That's why you never go alone. Nobody i wheels with has a winch. The dam is open now. I'm sure there is snow now

Best mod I have done so far is the Gm one wire mod. Very easy to do.

Here a little write up on it.

My regulator went bad so this is why I went this route. The cheapest I could find a VG was 65.00 big ones so i spent and extra 10 bux and went this route.

First I stated by removing the old Voltage regulator. Don't need it anymore.

I didn't want to spend $43 on a Gm one wire bracket from trail gear so i mad my own. I didn't take and pics of the lower bracket i made. I use the Stock upper bracket. Just had to extend it about 3 inches.

I used the stock size belt too.

Then you run a wire from the power post on the alt to the power side of your battery. I used 10 gauge wire.

By rollz87 at 2012-02-23

make sure you run the Fat white wire,red/blue.red/black wires back to the terminal they are the power to the fuse box.

As of now i am only running a 65 amp alt. I tell you what just with 65 amp alt my volts do not drop past 13 volt with wipers, header on high all my light on and my cd player. I will get a bigger alt when this one dies.
