3vze hard starting.

I have a 93 3vze. Recently replaced fuel filter. Replaced fuel pump back in the winter.

The truck has been starting hard for a while. When its cool especially. It takes a few cranks to get it going. If i shut it off and immediately start it, it fires fine.

Could this be gradually losing fuel pressure ( I smell no gas) or maybe low compression?

Thanks.

Check your cold start injector, but it sounds like you're bleeding out pressure somewhere, could be through a bad fuel injector in which case you wouldn't smell gas because it's leaking into the cylinder. Also saw other posts on here about similar problems caused by pinholes in the gas lines or similar very miniscule and hard to track down problems. Have you tried a search?

sounds like a fuel issue, a fuel pressure test would be nice to confirm this. leaking injectors could be a culprit, as could a stuck fuel pressure regulator bleeding fuel back through the return line.
