Rear suspension noise after hard stop?

Rear suspension noise after hard stop?
I recently purchased a 2008 4runner Limited. It is a clean corp. lease return and I have driven it mostly for commute. It has a smooth running V8 and I doubt if it has been off road.
When I come to a hard stop, often at a light change in 2WD mode, some times I hear a clunk in the rear end and the back end seems to settle down. This occures after the car has stopped.
Is this normal or are repairs required?
