For those of you with flowmaster 50!

So I'm giving myself an exhaust makeover and I checked with the local exhaust guy and it sounds like it will be cheaper to just buy the muffler online than going through him. I'm looking at the Flowmaster 50 series 2.25" inlet and outlet. My question is what do are you guys running so far as inlet and outlet location? Offset/offset, center/center, center/offset? Does it matter?

Thanks!

it wont matter unless you're just cutting the stock muffler out and putting the new one in. if you have him do a catback, it wont matter

Well I got a flowmonster high flow catalytic converter and a 2.25" flowmaster 50 series delivered today! I have an appointment with the exhaust shop in town to run all new pipes from the header back on Tuesday afternoon. I'll try to get a before and after video so you can hear the difference. Right now I just have a set of those pacesetter headers on there with the stock exhaust but I have a couple leaks here and there. Should open up some power for me!

How did you like the pacesetter on there? Could you feel any difference when you put it on there?

Well I think to get the full affects of a header addition, you have to redo the whole exhaust system. I didn't actually ever drive it with the stock manifold on. I put the header on during my engine rebuild when I first got it. I have engnbldr's RV head with a 261 cam and oversized valves and he said they respond well to a header and exhaust so that's what I'm doing. So far I've loved the power with just the header so I'm excited to see how it feels with the whole system. I haven't had to have my foot slammed on the highway or downshifting up hills like I have heard others talk about. Cruising at 75 is easy and hills are a breeze.

Oh my! This exhaust is AMAZING! I can't believe how good it sounds. It sounds like a V6 when it's idling and is crazy deep and throaty when I open it up. And the best part is it sounds almost stock when you're cruising so you don't get any annoying drone. Then, as soon as you open it up, it sounds like a beast! I'll try to get a video sometime soon so you can hear it.

With that kind of gas mileage what size tires are you running?
