Cant get the Caliper's back on?????

Hello all, I am working on my cousin's 91 reg. cab 22re 4x4 5spd truck. I just finished doing: rear drums, shoes, hardware, wheel cyl., new brake lines, front pads, rotors, calipers, upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, torsion bar hardware/bolts, wheel bearings, steering stabilizer, oil change, and blower motor resistor. I am trying to put the new caliper's on and the holes to mount it are just shy of lining up on both sides? I assumed I must not have seated the rotor/hub assembly all the way back so I took it back apart and tried again, still same thing, wont go on. So I searched the web to see if there were two sizes of rotor available, but no. It seems that the only difference is 2wd or 4wd. It all seems to fit perfectly but the caliper will not go on, so any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Chad.

My bet is the pads are hitting on the back side so it won't line up.

I remember it taking quite a bit of force to line the holes back up correctly. So get western with it...

Embarrassingly enough the pads were in backwards. One of the pads has a little piece that comes off the bottom, that pad has to go on the inside. I simply swapped the pads around and all is well. I forgot to take note of that when I took it all apart, and EVERYTHING was replaced with new so when I got back to it I made this simple but FRUSTRATING mistake. Thanks all!

Yeah, I told the wife I was embarrassed to tell her what was wrong yesterday after she asked if I figured it out. I just hope it helps someone out that may run into this in the future. Dumb mistake, but I'm sure it wont be my last on!
