89 tranny questions

hey guys im lookin at buyin a 89 runner with the 22re motor and the tranny in it is shot, but i have a five speed tranny from my 94 3vze runner(i belive the r150f) will it fit or what kind of custom work do i have to do?
and also the tranny in the 89 is an auto what should i do?

The 3VZE R150F has a longer input shaft than the W56 or other 4 cylinder engines, IIRC.

You'd need an adapter plate for the bell housing at minimum.

You'd probably be better off just buying the right tranny/transfer case. They can be had for under $200 if you look around or are patient.

Swapping in a manual that wasn't designed to be there would be a project killing pain in the butt unless you're pretty talented. It's more than I would be willing to do.
