will the 14 gallon fuel tank fit on a 17 gallon mount or viceversa? just looking for a fuel tank,but seems 14 gallon are cheaper and i dont ride that long to need the a big tank.my truck is a 87 turbo RN61 everywhere i look says is 17gal.

 

I don't know if it will fit or not but what I can tell you is that it won't work with your level sender so take the cost of a new one into account. That's if the 14 gal sender even works with the fuel level gauge. Not sure on the fuel pickup/fuel pump senders either.

 

I've been looking at tanks for my 94 (waiting for some cash), the cheapest I have found-w/free shipping-is autopartswarehouse.

They have a 17 gallon for $156 that fits your RN61.

 

I hope you're not in CA, you can't swap tanks...smog police will get ya.

 

As long as the new tank meets or exceeds the original equipment in regards to evap. lines a fuel tank swap is perfectly legal.

 

what CA coops will do if they catch me with a cranberry juice gallon as fuel tank? LOL i live in Puerto Rico,coops here only know about speeding tickets,i want to here my truck engine running so first thing i saw was the cranberry gallon drop a walbro 255lph and brumm! running around my house,17gal tank is to10f and is over $200 everywhere,14 gal is a lot cheaper.Resto i also check autopartswarehouse and is $223 and no shipping to P.R.
