I saved my butt off in highschool and bought a 98 Tacoma which was a victim of the frame rot issues, prior to it being a known issue .

Being broke and in college, I scratched up a few grand for a clean 94' which I've run the last 4 years. I plan to keep this truck but retire it as a DD.

I'm finally able to buy a new(er) truck and have a few questions:

Do all 05+ have push button 4x4 (ie turn the knob)?

What would you have looked at more carefully on your truck before you bought it?

I will be getting a extracab 4cyl - does that motor still have a timing chain like its predecessors? What are people getting out of them? 100k?

Anything else you'd care to share?
