Radiator Fan Shroud needed?

Looks like somehow the fan is stuck on the shroud. Would it hurt these engines to remove the shroud?

The shroud makes the fan WAY more efficient....is there no way to fix it?

Why is the fan stuck? Did you do a body lift? I would solve the problem and run the shroud. pictures, make and model

Same here. I ran my 3VZE without a fan shroud for about a year. Didn't notice anything different.

The reason it came off in the first place was to clean out the mud it collected at the bottom. That caused it to overheat. So I figured I'd leave it off and see what happened. Didn't do any good, or bad. And since I don't do as much mud bogging as I used to, I figured I'd put it back on. Got tired of looking at it sitting on the shelf too...

maybe not through hell, but i've had mine off for 3000 miles, including several multi-hour drives (2-4 hrs). also, i commute 100 miles a day, and use the a/c a bunch. engine runs like a champ (22r-e)

but i have a reason: i'm upgrading to an e-fan soon enough

Thanks for the input guys. Turns out it was due to the body lift. Went from a 3'' that was on the truck from the previous owner to a 1''.
