Installing '80 20R in my '83....couple questions

I know it will "bolt up" just curious to see if there will be any fitment issues (throttle linkage, electrical connectors, etc.) I plan on installing the power steering pump off of the blown 22R on the 20R...To those who have done this ant tips/suggestions?

no fitment issues .. just some wiring differances

power steering systems are the same , so dont bother with that unless there is an issue ?

20R is a bit of a step backwards , as there is less power ..

your best option is the put the 20R head on the 22r block ...

20r is a manual "antifreeze" plumbed choke , where the 22r is an electric choke .. so you'll have to plumb/splice in the choke . if you have the oil pressure guage , you will have to swap that

actually , I think thats it ..

A lot of the connections on the earlier engine will have round plugs.
82-83 will have square plugs if memory serves me correctly.

Thanks guys....just trying to get all my ducks in a row before the install.....is a "heavy duty" clutch worth looking at on a dd / hunting truck? I want to put the best parts on it as possible while the engine is out...thinking on putting a header and doing away with the egr etc.....( the vacuum lines are a mess on the engine)...
