Can I use regular LED running lights as turnsignals for my prerunner bumper?

Since I will be losing my turnsignals on my rig when i get rid of my bumper i will need to use some aftermarket led's.
I have found some on trail gear but they are only a constant on for use such as running lights. If i wire them to the wires that were connected to my OEM turn signals will they flash when i use my turn signals? I don't mind if they flash faster i just want them to flash. LINK TO LED's scroll down a little.

FROM TRAIL-GEAR

these 12V LED lights are 100% water proof, sealed with epoxy, and meet SAE Standard J2042-2003. The lens cover is 2 1/2" x 1" and is manufactured out of polycarbonate plastic, making the lens much more impact resistant than other lenses made out of the more common acrylic plastic. These LEDs only draw 30 milliamps or .03 amps of current, so they will have a very low impact on your battery.

get rid of them completely and move the turns into the corner lights.

But to answer your question yes they will flash if you wire them into the original turn wiring. They shouldn't flash any faster then usual unless your converting to 100% LED's front and rear.

I moved mine into the corners. Very pleased with the effect.
LED's do cause the flasher speed to increase due to less resistance . Typically a different flasher is required.

I just converted incandescent to LED on my motorcycle and had to get a LED specific flasher. It did NOT work with LED up front and stock incandesent in the rear. The new flasher unit with a wider amp range worked with all combinations. YMMV. Good luck.

Do you have a link to the flasher unit? is this something that i can pick up at napa or autozone? My fronts will be LED and the rear will be the stock incandescent. So if i understood right with my combo the stock flasher will not work?

What hacking...? drill a hole in the backplate for a bulb socket. Pretty easy to do. If you don't like it then seal the hole and nobody would ever know. Unless you're going for 100% originality it's a very minor mod.

hmm i thought i saw a thread on that mod where you had to use a hole saw and completely drill out the hole and use silicone to get a perfect fit to glue the new bulb on socket in.

This is the one I got mostly because it was specific to motorcycles. The rubber band thingy to hold it in place was useful. I also liked that they listed the amp range so I knew it would work with both types of lights. I don't know if your set up will work or not. It depends on the amp range of your current flasher unit. My experience was that the LED light would come on solid with the turn signal switch engaged. With the new flasher everything worked, stock front/LED rear, stock rear/LED front, all LED, all stock, left right splits. You name it, it worked. You can likely find something cheaper for the truck flasher. NAPA is probably a good source. Just try to get something with that 0.1-15 amp range.

Great thank you. I'll try wiring it up and if it doesn't work I will order this flasher.
