Question Need help ordering parts for replacing leafs and BJ spacers

So im working on putting together a kit for my 93 pickup to replace my VERY worn out leafs with some OME 1.75in lift leafs and putting BJ spacers in. The parts that im not sure about is the extra small stuff that comes with replacing them. Heres what I got so far on my list:

*Rear lift OME Leaf Springs 1.75in lift medium load
-Rear Leaf Spring Bushing Kit
-Rear U-bolts
-Bushing Sleeve
-Steering Damper?

*1.5 BJ spacers
*Brake valve proportion bracket?
*Differential drop bracket?
*New shocks all around

I put a question mark next to the parts im not sure about. Do I need these for a mild lift like this?

Well... depends how much money you have...and how bad stuff looks under there!

While you're under there, you could think about ball joints and wheel bearings for a start...if you're monkeying with the brakes, why not pull the rear drums and load sensing doodad and do a caliper conversion! Its only money after all!!

II found that the OME u bolts I received did not fit the spring seat on my truck (too narrow), which was, upsetting at the time, but the stock ones worked fine.... I'd consider a flip kit if I were to do it again.

I also don't currently have greaseable shackles, and I wish I did.

I'm right smack in the middle of the upgrade, i'm actually heading to a shop tomorrow to use their hydraulic press and push out my control arm bushings...and then I'll be putting my newly rebuilt hubs, new cvs, new pads+rotors, ball joints, reconditioned a-arms back on.....

The a-arms are a real mother chucker. I wouldn't advise.

Get a hold of wabbit, he is a mod on here and can help you out, check out his lift section on his web site
http://www.wabfab.org/component/opti...e,shop.browse/
He should be able to fix you up with what you need or point you in the right direction, a lot of the things on your list you don't need for a simple BJ, rear leaf lift.

I agree, wabbit has AWESOME stuff, but he doesn't really cater to the mostly stock IFS crowd...To paraphrase his reply "I spend most of my time cutting IFS off..."

Yeah I checked wabbits site first but all he had was add-a-leafs which isnt what I need. My leafs are pretty flat and my truck currently leans to the right a inch or two in the back because they are so tired

I'd recommend getting your spacers and diff drop kit here if you don't fab it yourself...

Also, my local toyota dealer is an ARB dealer... they beat several local and out of state retailers and actually matched an out of state internet shops price with the 10% WA sales tax included... def. worth checking locally before assuming you -have- to ship.

That said, for the odd stuff, like wheel bearing/seal kits, your 54mm spindle nut tool(and nuts if your p.o. used a chisel on them), brass spindle bushings, and all the rebuild parts, wabbit has it

Ahh, I swear you didn't have a location in your profile just moments ago... ARB's headquartered in Seattle, so you shouldn't pay any shipping fees, either pick it up, or have the shop pick it up.

I buy a lot of parts from Tighe or Mike at Lake City Toyota. They're good guys.

Lol yeah ive always had my location. I thought the headquarters was in Renton? Didnt know you could actually buy stuff through them. I thought it was more of just a warehouse or office lol

You can't actually order direct, but you can avoid the shipping fees by having your local shop pick it up, or by picking it up yourself...

I installed some 1.5" bj spacers on my 87 4runner last week, ball joints and all that were still in good shape, i didnt have to pull the hub or nothin so wheel bearings/seal did not get replaced. to be honest, it took me all of maybe 2 hours to do the bj spacer install...and thats at least 1.5 hours on the first side and .5 on the second...relatively easy job to do. better make sure you either have a grinder or other cut off tool though if youre going to install...cuz the spacers wont fit without cutting the upper control arm. And on the back (which my PO installed longer springs and they are still in really good shape), I just installed some 3" blocks...fixed me right up.

I got the OME rear shocks and leafs, bushing kits, and picked up the greaesable shackles a couple months later. I recommend them.

for the front I just got the BJ spacers and pro comp shocks. mating the shocks and springs is important for ride quality I hear, but since I didn't get the OME torsion bars I voted to save a little on the front shocks.

brake valve proportioning bracket is important if you want your rear brakes to work right, you can feel the difference. diff drop is kinda optional. my CV angle with 1.5" BJ spacers isn't so bad that I think I need one. I didn't see the point of a new steering damper so I skipped that too.

I ordered all the OME stuff from rocky road and then had ARB hold it at the warehouse in renton and picked it up. if you save on shipping you should be able to get all that for way under a grand.

Yup, if you skip the t-bars, damper, and don't buy ome stuff, it does def cost less
The hardest part is choosing!
