Awesome auxilary battery mounting location

I recently installed a completely new sound system in my 4runner. The sub amp pulls 1500 watts and it was recommended by my local stereo shop to install another battery dedicated to powering the amp.

When i took the passenger side back panel off i noticed how big the factory 4inch speaker enclosure was, took it out, and compared it to the size of my battery. Surprisingly it was just about the same exact size. so i removed and hollowed out everything inside the enclosure and this is what the result was.

This is a picture of it installed

Good idea, just make sure you vent it somehow to the outside of the cabin.

All Shuriken batteries have Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) technology, so they are a sealed, non-vented battery which can be mounted in almost any position (upside down, not recommended).
Your good, no venting required.

I'd line the inside of the sheet metal to keep it from grounding out if someone were to lean in the right spot...

yeah i thought about that i put a couple layers of electrical tape over the terminals to prevent it. Im probably going to go back and do something a little more durable though. Thanks

http://www.trail-gear.com/miscellaneous scroll to the last of the bottom. Very useful upgrade. A re manufactured GM alt is like 50 bucks. BBB industries 72941w number is what I used. Pretty easy
