12voltguy.com's elocker harness

I am going to buy an elocker harness for my newly swapped elocker rear in my 94. Has anybody who has done this swap and used 12voltguy.com's harness had any troubles with his setup. I was wondering because he doesn't use resistors or relays. I thought about inchworms kit but it requires soldering and I'm not experienced with that. And I don't want to fab up my own because of the soldering and I'm affraid it would be unreliable, and a headache. Please let me know.

You will be hardpressed to find anything bad about anything 12voltguy makes, if at all.

I'm sure he makes great stuff and I even emailed him about some things and he responded quickly. Im just a little worried about not using resistor or relays and what it might do over time to the locker. Just looking for someone with experience of time with this kit.

You can pull the pinout apart and jumper the motor to lock the diff with a 9V battery. I hardly think wiring it without a resistor or relay would hurt it.

yeah your probably right. I guess we'll find out because he seems to have the best harness as far as plug and play, and I like his missile style switch too. It would be harder to bump it with that cover. I guess I'll give him a shout tomorrow.

There is absolutely no reason for a resistor or relay in this circuit. 12voltguy knows what he's doing and makes a quality product. Since you feel uneasy about making one yourself, and I am not selling a competing product: I highly recommend the harness from 12voltguy.

Tell him exactly what you have, he will send you what you need.

ps: I ran this thread by one of my instructors(ELT PE, PHD in physics) He agreed with a less "friendly" tone.

Theres no sense in being less friendly about a simple question. Inchworm uses a resistor and I think toyota did too so theres a reason for that. I'm willing to try the harness without one. I think you guys are right in saying it shouldn't hurt a thing. I thought I would just try and find somebody who had been using this kit and find out their experience with it. Nothing wrong with that before I spend 145 bucks. Thanks for replying guys. I'll be ordering one tomorrow.

Sparky has had one on his 89 with elocker retro for 3 years. It works flawlessly.
