98 4Runner Rear Suspension (need photos)

Hi,

I never had the rear suspension recall taken care of in my 98 4Runner because I had been running AirLift bags. One of the bags just let loose due to rust on the springs and age.. the a$$ is dragging a lot now. As a result, I am considering having the recall performed.

I searched the forum's and found the recall affects the main rear coil springs and some kind of added spring in the center.

Does anyone have photos of the recall mod after install? If so, can you post them up so I can review.

Thanks,

Every '96-'98 that I've seen that's had the recall done is simply sitting on new stock springs.

Well I guess I should just have it done then... at least I would get a set of new springs through the deal.

Thanks,

Jeff

You should be able to do the recall just fine. The dealer will use the VIN to verify you qualify and then do the work for free.

It'll look the same as yours except probably a little higher. They only rep[lace the springs and don't add anything.

Sounds like it's time to do a lift!
