I have a 22re in a 92 pickup, ive had it for 10 years and the emissions sticker under the hood says 2.7 - 22re.. ive been told by every toyota mechanic and everyone else that they were never made that size until the 95 tacomas came out. only 2.2 and 2.4..yet ive been looking at the toyota california emissions sticker here for all these years sayin 2.7..do i own the worlds only 2.7 22re from the factory or has anyone else owned or even ever seen another one?! i just want to buy the right rebuild parts.. and can i look it up by engine block number or vin?? no service mechanic will even believe me and now that original hood is gone along with my only proof.

 

if it's a 2.7L then it can't be a 22RE.

I can post a pic but its a 22re alright, its on the valve cover..ive looked up history by the vin# for recalls and worked on it by the book..had it for a long time..its just a 22re without AC or power steering, just a base model 2wd truck..how i wish i had a pic of that hood sticker. I know it just sounds like im new its no tacoma engine.. weirdest thing... yall still want a pic ill post one but i figure your just checkin to see if I really know what I got. the taco engines look way different.

Thats just the 22r on the bottom of the block, its fuel injected with 22re on the front of the valve. im workin on the pic right now.

If I take the head off and the cylinders are bored to 2.4 ill just die laughing at myself..a sticker typo..and the dealer told the original buyer it was special and rare.

Where's the 2.7L - 22RE written? could you post the emission's picture on the hood you were talking about.

Dirt raod livin gives a special look, well lets not waste any more time on this..Ive spent enough on hold with toyota dealerships..If the valves are bent ill have to take the head off anyway and then ill finally know..if its standard bore ill just have to laugh..but ill have the parts cause thats all theyll sell lol..damn you sticker printing bastard

 

All you have there is a regular 22RE, there is nothing special or rare about it.
