Fault Code 12

My 87' 22re has the check engine light and is giving me code 12. I found a thread that gave me this info:

(code 12)RPM Signal No G or NE signal present for 2 seconds during cranking
Open G circuit
Open, short in G or NE circuit.
Distributor
ECU

I have replaced the Distributor and ECU.. I dont know what the "12 RPM Signal No G or NE signal present for 2 seconds during cranking Open G circuit Open, short in G or NE circuit" are.

Please help, im going nuts trying to figure this out.

Does the code come back? If not, it may have been a one time thing. Might have been somebody pull started it or hot wired right to the starter to fire it up once.

FSM should have some detailed troubleshooting steps for the code.

From what i gather it is the knock sensor. I did not realize it had one. There's a sensor in place, but it is not wired.. Does anyone have a wiring diagram?

Should be about 10:00 o'clock from the oil filter, yellow sensor with a round yellow plug and single wire connector:
