ive been hearing some weird noises when accelerating at all speeds, and finally got to checking some things out and noticed this. obviously this is no good, but how bad is the damage and how urgent should i get it fixed? theres never a good time to spend money...

also, does the rusting on the muffler concern anyone? i know the pipes are pretty bad as well. recommendations and how much could i expect to pay for a fix? thanks.

 

i have the same problem but with the hanger at my tailpipe. my local shop said a $10 bill would get a hanger and welded back in place.

as far as your muffler just check it out and see if its just surface rust cause if it is you should be ok.

 

thanks man, thats what i was thinking. the rust does seem to be surface and i wish i would have used some rubberized undercoat about 5 years ago...seeing as it spent winters in the nc mountains with all those salty roads. oh well.
