86 to 81 driveline help
ok here is the deal i am wanting to know if my axel side of a 81 will side into the case side of a 86 or are the splines deffrent just need some info on it thanks for looking any help at all

Rear axle shafts on the '86 are longer (wider axle) than yours and of course the front axles are totally different (solid axle vs. IFS). Drive shafts on the '81 likely have 8mm bolts while the '86 will have 10mm bolts.

ok im talking about the front and i can get the flange for the case im trying to see if the case side of the drive line will slide into the axel side so basckly take half of the 86 one and put inside the 81 one what kinda issues will i have

The t-case flange should swap over and assuming the slip yoke splines are the same (count the splines and see), they should swap. I know the '84 and later slip yokes are all the same.
