Hey I have an 84 toy and I just blew my trans. I've been calling around to get it rebuilt and everyone's telling me its rare. They tell me an 85 won't work unless I change the shift linkage or something. It's a stick. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. Thanks Nip

 

um they just want more money, a 85 will work. all of the 20/22r-e 5 speeds will bolt up but 79-83 trannys are shorter in length. here is some other info on it. http://www.marlincrawler.com/transmi...built-complete
