supplies for my new lift? help me!

Hey, ok I have a 1989 3.0, I recently just bought a 4 inch suspension lift and 3 inch body lift and 35x12.5" MT/R's, now, as for lifting it I know i will need extended brake lines, i got that covered, I dont think i'll need an extended driveshaft because the lift comes with t-case spacers and my friend's 93 didnt need one, I was talking to one of my buddies and he said I'll need a new steering arm, now is that the same as a pitman arm? if so, where in the hell am I going to get that, I've tried lc engineering, all pro offroad and such, i can't find anything for my truck, also, I'm looking for some more performance out of my truck, Im getting the full K&N kit and full exhaust (downey headers and cat back Borla), but thats not enough for me to move these 35's, is there any place where i can get a cam or anything for my truck? Any kind of help would be appreciated! thankyou

best advice i can give you for more power out of the 3.Slow would be to re-gear to 4.88 or 5.29 (this is prob your better choice). this will give you close to stock power.

as far as the pitman arm goes, i would double check that you need one. contact the manufacturer of the lift kit.

you don't need a new steering arm/pitman arm. everything you need, you have covered.

as for the 3.0 v6, the only place i know that sells a cam for the 3.slow is DOA Engines. they have the specs for there cams so you can find a shop locally to grind them.

the best option is to re-gear to 4.88 (better mileage) or 5.29 (better acceleration).

You will definately need something for your steering. My Rancho kit came with long travel tie rod sleeves. I think they were something like 4 inches longer than stock sleeves. They are pretty basic, you might just have some made. All you need is a long rod with oppositely threaded female ends.

I have never seen a person needing steering things added when installing these lifts that was not already included in it.

Get 5.29's, your 35's will thank you.

At 3" of body lift you will want to to something to bring your shifters up some. Is this truck automatic or manual? You will need to extend your steering shaft and trim the heck out of your radiator fan shroud at the least. You probably will also have to extend brake lines, fuel lines, clutch line if applicable, and fuel filler neck.

Read 4crawler's body lift page for more info. I'm not sure how the drivetrain lift applies to a V6 but its worth considering.

Your speedometer will be WAY off and your acceleration will totally suck more than it already does with 35s unless you re-gear to 4.88 or 5.29 as mentioned above.

Good luck. Keep us posted on the progress.

the body lift kits from performance accessories do include shifter extensions, radiator relocators, etc. i have never needed anything extra for any of my suspension or body lifts.
