Engine idle speed lowers when headlights are on

Is this normal or could I have an alternator or battery on its way out?

I'd say it's normal for a 15-20+ year old truck, however something like the "Big 3" upgrade helps. That's all I will say, it's up to you to figure out what the "Big 3" means.

ok I looked up the "Big 3". Saw too much info that didn't match up. What size wire is best? Where is the engine to chasis ground on a 22RE?

I just did the Big3 (or most of it, until I have more time to finish) and I went with 4ga. The ring terminals for that size fit everywhere, and it's quite a bit larger than stock.
