Searched a ton to no avail. All my dash lighting works except the back lighting. In fact all my electrical in the whole truck works flawlessly except the gauge back lighting. the only thing I can think of is that the truck had a remote start and alarm when I bought it. I bought the truck with a blown up motor. built a new one. Installed it. and it all works well. I never had a reason to turn the lights on with no motor so I don't know if the dash lights worked before I removed the alarm. As a side note I do not have a cover for my in cab fuse box. If anyone wants to post a pic of their fuse box cover from a similar year that would be rad. In the mean time I checked all the fuses in there and they were all good.

Have you checked the fuses ?, what about the dimmer switch, if its turned all the way down the lights will go off, or if its bad they won`t work at all, try bypassing it and see if that makes a difference.

 

Dimmer has an effect on the heater control lights. I think it's working properly.

 

Double check the dimmer, i made that mistake more than once...
