Advice please: 1st Gen truck saggy front springs
hello all.
So I'm still new to the 1st gen 4WD. not to yotas as you will see in the pic. that's my first yota love next next to the new one... Advice needed is this: Should my front springs look this saggy? seems a little much.

Both of my trucks look exactly like that. I am not sure if they looked like that from the factory, but you can always have the springs re arched at a spring shop to match the original specs.

I had a guy tell me that at work. Just thought that re-arching them would cause a problem with the strength of the spring... I would like my truck to look level. as of now it looks lower in the front.

Hey buddy, very nice blue plated California 1st Gen 4x4. Yeah my truck is about even or almost negative like yours...It's still a very capable suspension for off-roading, no worries there.. But to even the height of the front suspension try adding a larger shackle to the front leaf. This should raise it and not cost you for new springs or having them re-arched..I'd like to see a few more pics too, good luck.

you could buy some new springs if you want to bring it back up to stock?
my 1980 was supposed to have stock suspension on it (i asked about a lift..and he said it was stock when i bought it..but they were new springs!)and it sat up a bit more than that
I could fit 33's NO problem at all..lol looks like you would rub with 31's lol
to answer your question though, NO they shouldn't be that saggy...just lots of miles on em looks like!
stay away from a shackle on the front of the spring.
you can however put a larger shackle in the rear.
do it right the first time and get ya some new springs!

as far as re-archin, make sure you read this and be sure the shop does it the correct way, otherwise you will be wasting your money and 2 or 3 years down the road they will look the same way. FYI most shops use the "cold setting" method. which IMO is worthless.

Yeah, I have 31's on it right now. I think I could fit 33's if wanted... I have a Spring shop right around my house so I'll be stopping by one of these days to see if they are able to do it. here's a couple more pics...

OME. (old man emu) Not sure but you might have to go with a 2" lift spring though.
I think JCWhitney might make them for the 1st gens but some people with the 1st gen runners I have seen complain they are a little harsh.

sharp first gen!
those springs look like mine... very worn out. i'd go aftermarket, rearching will only fall out after some time. and while you're at it, get the bumpstop put back on the frame. they probably removed it because it was hitting all the time... which defeats the point.

It's an 86 Tercel. great car. never let me down. I swear by it! the wife doesnt like it so much... I always say the car was here first! back to the spring issue, I'm still trying to figure out which springs i'm going to get.I 'd like the front of my tuck to be a little higher than the back so i need to figure out how much lift i need or if stock would do since the ones i have are sagging alot.. any suggestions?
