E Lockers

I had posted/read about this somewhere but i can recall where. Have any of you had any problems with your factory TRD lockers? Are these similar to the lockers that came in the last of the solid axle front end cruisers? thanks.

the e-lockers in the land cruisers are the same except for the ones in the front are of a hy-pinion design. the tacoma's have a different diff, but the design is the same

The rear Cruiser e-locker is bigger and will only fit the axle it comes in, the Taco/4runner rear e-lockers and Cruiser front locker can all be retrofitted into an 8" Toy axle. Using the high-pinion Cruiser front locker in the rear is not recommended as it results in using the weaker coast side of the gears while moving forward.

Are you wondering about problems with the actuators?

Basically, but from my conversations with Jim the kit he sells is not assembled. It's merely a collection of all the parts needed but you still have to put it all together. In my opinion if you're going to spend that much on the controller you might as well get the factory setup and make it work as it was designed to.

hell, if you pay me $75, ill make you one that is all clean, soldered up and everything. incl. a lighted switch that fits in a factory hole and factory plug for the e-locker.
