The video is to dark to really see what`s going on, can you explain what if anything you did to cause this problem ?, have you removed the shifters, maybe you put them back in wrong ?. We need more information.

I did remove them and put them back in, I'll try to track down a work light and record another video.

I don't know how I could have put the shifters in backwards, the plate only goes on one way and the shifters each have a slot they go in, circle for the trans and square for the transfer case.

I'm with him, one of those has to be in backwards or upside down depending on the way you look at it.

I think your TC shift rails are not in the right spot...

This happens a lot! So don't feel like the Lone Ranger...

Remember, the only place the shifter should left-right is in H4.

IIRC, the left one is all the way up, and right is middle or all the way back...

Make sure there's no load on the DT, and you should be able to click it up with a pen or screw driver.

Oh, and hey... I wouldn't take that cover off like that if I was you...

That's a LARGE surface area to knock dirt or debris in, should you knock some off on the removal/ install

Just remove each shifter and stuff a paper towel in each hole.

Don't feel stupid. The PO did the same thing on my truck and it took me months to figure it out.

I only know from the experience of doing it myself before.

Lessons learned the hard way.
