Swapping Engines in 93 Toyota pick up

Hello, i have a 93 Toyota pick up 4x4 Manual Trans with 22RE engine, the engine is blown and need a new one, is it possible to put in the 6 cylinder version for this year? and if so what all do i need, Motor mounts?.....

Any help would be great,

You're going to need the ECU and harness for sure, and I would think some hoses or lines as well.

Well i have the hole Truck that the 6 cylinder is in, so i could take all the parts out but was wondering if i needed to buy anything in order to switch them over.

I'm pretty sure you'll need your motor mounts re welded to match the V6's correct location...


Then, you'll need to put the transmission in it b/c the 22RE's and V6's are not the same...

Then wire it up... It should work...

A 22R/E made anywhere from 1985 to 1995 will work.

yea i know any 22RE will work just no money for another engine.

What is the full rundown of the truck you have now, and the V6 you want to swap in?

Engine, trans, 4WD, 2WD?... Extended cab...?

thanks for the link, doesn't seem to hard, hardest part looks like the engine mounts, But not sure if a Reg Cab Transmission is the same the Extended.

All the info running rampant on the interwebs and I still don't know if the cross members of a 4 and 6 are in the same spot...

thanks for the link, But still need to find out if they are the same as the Reg Cab, guess only way to tell is to go out and Measure up!

I have an r150 sitting in my shed with the crossmember on it, and a g58 (w56) in my 4runner. Why dont i just go get off my lazy ass and measure it

I will get an answer soon.

So the trans will bolt in as long as you use the v6 crossmember.
They have the same mounting locations. you just cant use the 4 cyl crossmember on the 6 cyl trans.
