Just Plain Stuck

Hey so im getting ready to do a SAS to my 2nd gen. I bought two partially good axles to make 1 good one overall. My problem is on my axle thats good from the knuckles out, its got what looked like just some surface rust but I cant for the life of me get the steering linkage off the top, or the little caps off the bottem. All the nuts came off no prolem, and I've soaked them in tons of penetrating oils but they just wont buge. Anybody got some trick that makes this easier? It's really slowed me down

did you get the cone washers out? put the nut back on the stud a couple turns and hit it gently with a hammer the cones will pop up. once the cones are out it'll come off easy.

Might be someone in the past forced the steering arms into some knuckle bearings and you might need a thin pry bar or a BFH to force those arms and caps off. I've run into that once, basically had to destroy the bearings to get the arms off. After that, I take care to check the bearing fit on the arms and if they don't slide on easily, I lightly file/sand down any high spots until they do.

Thanks for the advice, Ive got them off now and it actually took a little bit of both methods you guys said. It's obvious someones been into this axle before, the parts all seem to be ok, but I think youre right about somebody forcing it all on at one point, cuz that was ridiculous
