I'm installing a ome steering stabilizer,I'm havng a problem removing the old one. The end in the steering linkage will not come out. Can anyone help?

 

You have to beat that stabilizer out with a hammer or something, they get really stuck in there!

 

A pickle fork or a pry bar work great.

And if it's really a tough one put some heat on it.

 

The stock stabilize has a rubber bushing between the stabilizer and the linkage, but the ome does not. Is that just the ome design? Thanks for the quick response.

 

Go with Duel Stabs. Dont cost but $30 more and they look cool.

 

Yeah, that is the way the OME is designed.

 

I'm in the middle of installing bj spacers, shocks, springs etc. I've got a laptop in the garage when I need help. Thanks

Well Im working on it right now and im BC blasting it and prying and still nothing.

 

It has been on there since new.

You could also use a puller.

I think I just cut the steering stabilizer off with a cut off wheel then it popped right out with the air hammer.

Does your new steering stabilizer mount in the same hole??

 

Yea that was my next question. the new one looks like a straight shock and the old has a pivoting joint.
