ANOTHER oil pressure gauge question

Guys, I searched and read through a million old threads, but here's my question because I can't find the answer. Factory 22re SR5. So I want to install an aftermarket electical oil pressure gauge. So I cannot just replace the factory sending unit (for the SR5 dash) or the ECU might freak out. Correct? And I'll need something to convert the threads anyway right? So is the easiest thing to do is buy a T so I can use the factory sending unit on one leg of the T to keep the ECU happy, and on the other leg of the T I can use the sending unit for the aftermarket gauge. And I'll need it with 1/8 NPT on one leg of the T and 1/8 BPST on the other leg right? Where can you buy a T like that? Let me know if I'm on the right track. Thanks.

If you don't use the oem sender you'll just have a light or no reading depending on cluster.

T at local industrial supply.

Thanks Waskilly. So replacing the factory sender won't cause any catastrophic failure, just a light or the OEM gauge not working. I can live with that. Thanks a million.

No, I'm running an Autometer gauge and no stock gauge.

Keep in mind you'll probably need one of these guys to fit the 1/8" NPT to the 1/8" BSPT in your block:

I ran an aux pressure gauge before my SR5 swap and used a brass T fitting

1/8" NPT I think it was; two female ends, and one male end; worked great!
