JB Weld it

you can find the IFS rear housings over here for a couple hundred bucks ( hell i sold a narrow rear axle for a case of beer) but shipping would be killer.

All Hilux Surfs/4Runners have the same rear axle housing. Its quite heavy and I suspect that it would be prohibitively expensive to ship from the colonies.

i dont know if you're searching for "turbo Diesel rear axle" or not because you will not find them here... you want to just make sure its from a 90-95 4runner. also check Craigslist.org

Search for a 1990-1995 4Runner axle, the earlier one's were leaf-sprung. They'll work, but you'll have to weld on pads for coil springs and mounts for the 4 links... easier to buy a 1990-1995 rear axle.

Oh I see it now, it must be the rear of the axle and the tall thing is one of the brackets.

I have one I might be able to give you if you want to see how much shipping would cost from 76227 in Texas.

yes, it started as a hole in the housing at the top so i was always weeping a bit of oil, then the big arm that is welded onto it holding a tension bar broke off, ive gotten it welded by two diff proffesional welders but has always broken again, then this large crack appeared the other day and covered a motorcycle i had on a trailer with my axle oil ;-) dont think it can be fixed so need a new one...

Desp, your a superstar.....who do you reckon i contact to get a quote for shipping? do you reckon its the same rear axle as mine?

All you need is the axle housing, right? I can remove the drums/axles/third member and make it as light as possible. It's off of a 1995, V6 4WD 4Runner so it should be the same as yours.

I'd start out saying about 5 ft long, 12"x"12 and at least 100 lbs. I know it's probably over 2 with everything on it.

I tried Fedex, it looks like around 575, I'm guessing pretty much anything will be 500+.

Can't weld it up then support it from the outside with some bracing?

The later model axles aren't the same as the older 79-95 axles. I believe the diff is different.
You might be able to make it work if you convert it to leafs and leafs on your 4runner. But the dimensions of the later model link in the rear are going to be different.
