So I relocated my XRC 10 winch solenoid... (pics)

And this is what I came up with...

Removed solenoid from this box

It takes up maybe a small half of the box, and the box looks like it just shields it from dirt.

So After it was out I located it in the area behind the Toyota logo on the grill, which is hollow, and if you line the solenoid up right it fits right in, shielded from splashes, and able to have water drain away from it.

I didn't get any good pictures of this step, but here is a bad one of the finished product.

Here is the only part of the solenoid that isn't tucked into the hollow spot
you can barely see the small part right up and to hte left of the logo. You can also see the remote plug here.

finished product

Used to look like this

you can sort of see the box between the lights

And then a few bonus pictures

Yup still works

re graded the trail a little bit...

It looks like one of your lights is aimed up a little high...other than that...

Did you extend the wiring or use what was there?

I haven't re aimed them yet

And I used what was there, If they had been longer than maybe a foot and a half the box would have probably gone into the engine bay. I actually like it more where it is.

Nice

The box also shields the power terminals from something shorting against them.

Being close to the radiator, does it get hot? Heat is bad for solenoids.
