Cheap no-brainer $15 horn upgrade

I know there are a bunch of horn threads, but I just installed a pair of Wolo Maxi Sound horns. I didn't see this particular horn pop up on any threads. They seem to be less than half price on Amazon. I only paid ~$15 for the pair with free shipping on Amazon Prime.
They intstalled in about 10 minutes. They fit perfectly in the stock locations simply by trimming the tab off the stock connector.
You can go here for a fairly accurate representation of the sound they put out. Scroll down to the "Maxi-Sound" product. You get one high and one low note horn in the package for the classic car horn sound that a truck should have.
I can tell you that it is not going to blow out anyone's ear drums at only 115 decibels, but the sound commands respect, as opposed to the Road Runner's beep beep.
I couldn't be happier for $15.
I have been driving around with my Hella Supertones for a few years and these blow them away in every respect other than how cool they look through the grill. Not that these don't look cool, just that you can't see them since they are plain 'ol black plastic from the front.

another horn thread! JEESH! I know it's a sign now that i HAVE to go upgrade the beep beep...

sounds like a "normal" horn should sound! not like the wussy one that's in there now (though the sound alone doesn't stop me from using it- i've never lived in a place where everyone is afraid to use the horn, for whatever reason, as much as they are here in VT.)

I didn't mind the stock horn too much except when I used it people in the cars around me started waving their arms around like they were swatting mosquitoes.

2 old caddy horns for $2.41 and life is good.

Pics... and I might buy. I do like the junkyard idea though - that had crossed my mind before

I only use my horn on extremely stupid people that just almost caused me to be in an accident. So when I use it I want them to piss on themselves,I will be changing mine. The little sissified angry bumble bee horn commands a laugh, not respect.

Ok, here's some pics. Not much to look at, but here they are.
These things just bolt right in to the stock horn locations.

Sorry for the dirty rig and lousy pics, but here's how they look through the grill. Not much to look at.

Anyway, like I said, these horns are not going to give anyone a heart attack, but they definitely sound like a HORN and not a beep.
I'm sure you can get a few more decibels out of different units, but these are loud and cheap and easy to install.
Here's a pathetic excuse for a video shot on an iPhone. At least it gives you an idea of the sound these little buggers put out.

Not bad for $15, eh?

Thanks Ron,
That was my first attempt at uploading a video to the net... Ever.
With Photobucket, it was as easy as uploading a picture. No difference whatsoever. I hope to do it more often. So should everyone else!
I just need to remember to hold the phone sideways in landscape mode, so it doesn't get distorted.

Toyota doesnt understand the concept behind horns. Its as if they think its a decorative piece not to be taken seriously and only to be used as a punchline.

Red face

I am not sure if the horns even work .

I don`t think I ever had need to use it.

Cool up grade
