Marlin Crawler bumper+3rd gen

Well my story started about a month ago with the accident i had about $400-$500 for a new bumper paid in full by Allstate. I liked the idea of a tube bumper with stinger, but sadly dont have the tools nor the time to fab up one for myself. So i settled on 2, the #4 by Trail Gear, and the Marlin Crawler front with stinger. I was leaning heavily towards TG but after doing alot of reading, mainly here I went with the MC. well after about 3 weeks from order to doorstep, it came today, and fits PERFECTLY
(still looks like arse, but ive been fighting parts wholesalers, and bodyshops the entire time, and still nothing to show for it )

First i took the bumper off, chopped off the recovery shackles I had made, and cleaned up the frame rails

test fit of 3"X2"X1/4 wall rectangular tube im using as mounting bracket (little more grinding and tweaking needed)

welded

Pretty Welds (with flux!)

BUMPER! (and puppy)

Mach up to hold in place while i tacked it in place (yes, quite ghetto rig'd. and yes those are giant zip ties)

DONE!!!!!!!!

tubs have been cut, same with the random support that survived the wreck. and the lights are installed without tape now
thinking of moving it closer to the body by 2 inches, although when i install a winch i really dont wanna cut the grille. decisions decisions

Nice.. is the distance from the body suppose to be like that or is it just cus of the way its being hoisted. I think it would look better if you could get it tucked in a little closer somehow. Once you get everything done and your 4Runner back to new it should look good!

well it should be 1-2 inches closer, but since its build for a 2nd gen, this is as good as this one will get, and its a little off as well cause of the jerry rig, and the front is pushed in about 2 -3 inches, so once everything is repaired it will look better, but it will still stick out some

ah that reminds me of when I did my bumper, except my frame ends weren't that straight when I pulled off my stock bumper. Whoops!

Yeah I jumped off a 6-7ft dune with a stock rear end at 60mph. This was before my weld on bumper, and as we all know, there's not much support for the frame ends from the firewall forward.

I had to weld on a cheater bar and jump on them for a while to get them straight again. Now thanks to my weld on bumper and tower to tower support, that won't happen again!
