What have you guys used to mount grille guards on 3rd gen pickups?

A car came into the shop today and their taillights were held IN (as in, to their car) by scotch tape

They usually all mount to the same spot using bolts...depends on the type your getting...what do you want to accomplish?

Looks, slight protect, mild protection, good protection, plow through a moose and keep on truckin protection? Winch, lights?

Its like i tell my kids when they ask "Whats That"...they don't point I don't know what they're looking at...so I usually just say its a tree...

 

I was thinking looks and some protection, maybe plow through a deer....not a moose

You probably want a whole new aftermarket bumper as opposed to a grille guard. Hit a deer with one of them on the front of your truck and it'll just end up lodged in your radiator.

 

I know, but what have you guys used to mount the grille guards?

I'll bring back and old post.....I can usually find what I'm looking for after some searching, I've found a few ask the question but haven't received an answer.

I bought a used brush guard for my 90 toyota pickup today, I know its a damage multiplier.

It didn't come with any brackets, is there a place online to order them? I have a few people in mind that could make brackets, but I'm unsure what kind of design to have them make. If you have brackets or pictures of brackets, I'd appreciate if anyone would post them. Thanks alot

 

I ended up using a piece of angle iron with holes to use the bolts for the stock tow hooks

 

This brushguard has a bracket bolted to the bottom, I would think that bracket bolts onto the bracket you mount where your tow hooks are.

What about the little brackets towards the top? I cant seem to even find a picture of those to get an idea of what to make.

I did find that, as a last resort I'll use that I guess.

 

i believe the top mounts right onto your stock bumper (hence the damage multiplier of these things). PO of my truck said he used to have one on it, but took it off - coincidentally, there are 2 holes on my bumper right about where they would be located in the pic rattlewagon posted a couple years ago
