will a 92 pickup v6 3rd member fit 22re 3rd member?
i have a 94 22re and i have a parts truck which is a 92 v6 and i was wondering if the 3rd members are interchangable if so is the v6 one more better then the 22re one?

Yes, the rear and front 3rd members are the same style. The rear 3rd has a 4 pinion carrier, which is stronger than the two pinion found in 4 cylinder trucks.
Make sure the gears match on the parts truck, though. If they don't match you'll have to either swap both the diffs from the parts truck into yours, or not use 4wd.

It has been confirmed it this thread that the V6 third can fit in a 22re rear end but what does it take to make that happen?
ie: Gear ratios need to be the same, axle splines need to be the same, pinion gear the same length so the same drive line will work...
It is easy to look up gear ratios and axle splines but are the pinions the same?
Basically I want to know if this is just a bolt in swap because the carrier bearings in my third are shot and it would make it easier if I can source V6 and 22re thirds for a bolt in fix.
Thanks thanks.

Read that. Has everything you need to know. I have a v6 3rd from a 92 pickup in my 87 4runner. The only thing I had to change was the 3rd member itself.

Just snag the whole front housing, and the rear 3rd, and you'll be in business.
They're a direct swap.

pinion length doesn't matter because the driveshaft can compress or extend to accommodate whatever you hook it up to, and you are probably talking a difference of a few inches at most.
if you are getting a newer diff, check to see if it has the hole on top for the ABS sensor. you'll need to plug that if the sensor isn't on there.
