Rod Bearings

I'm changing the Rod Bearings on my '86 4x4 pickup. I need help determining the size bearings I need (Standard, 25 over, etc.). My Haynes manual says to determine the size get the letter off of the rod bearing cap (A, B or C). The letter on my caps are B. What the manual doesn't tell you is how this carries over to the size. I'm thinking since mine is a B it means 25 over. Any help here sure would be appreciated. The service dept at the local Toyota dealer was clueless to what I was talking about. They only order them as A, B or C.

If your crank hasn't been turned you can just use the standard size bearing's . Go to the Toyota parts dept. and ask for the std. bearings and they should ask you A,B, or C. Don't forget to plastic gauge.

Hey merrill94, I moved your previous post over to the maintenance section and I'm going to move this one too. I'll have the maintenance moderator merge these two threads.

Thanks, my next question is what about if I go to Auto Zone to get the bearing. They don't know what A, B or C means. Or is that more the reason to go to Toyota.
