i had the same thing happening with my '99 dodge. i know it's not a yoter, but i thought i'd throw out a suggestion. i checked compression, everything checked out ok, replaced everything excepet the distributor itself with the ignition. replaced all the spark plugs three times within a hundred miles thinking they were fouling out. nope, still had cyl 1,3,8 misfiring. it's automatic and when i went up an hill or pushed the gas pedal anymore than just normal driving, my heater vents on the dash would switch to the defrost. i did some checkin, i had lots of oil in my intake manifold. so i replace the intake and plennum gaskets and the thing runs like a charm and no more misfire. no more codes. hope this helps a little, good luck gettin it fixed

Was the miss there before you pulled the valve covers? If not check the injector wiring harness on the side with the miss and make sure it's not pinched under the valve cover.
